WDM Solutions Overview
Our Wave Division Multiplexing range covers the S,C, and L-Band wavelengths commonly used in optical fibre systems. From 1471nm to 1611nm for CWDM and 1531nm to 1565nm for DWDM. CWDM is a cost-effective solution for networks requiring fairly high bit rates, and represents a perfect economic and technologic match for metro access and metro core networks. DWDM offers more flexibility and robustness with respect to fibre types and channel counts, but with additional costs due to the tight channel spacing. The key advantages for both CWDM and DWDM are their protocol and bit rate transparency. WDM based networks can transmit data in IP, ATM, SONET/SOH and Ethernet and handle bit rates between 100Mb/s and 10Gb/s (and beyond).
Our WDM Platform supports WDM, transponder, GE Multiplexer, OADM and Protection cards. All cards can be inserted in the WDM Platform for network management via an SNMP card.
Applications:
Our WDM products includes the following:
- The FRM220-DWDM Mux/DeMux Modules with 100GHz channel spacing can be used to combine or separate wavelength channels at standard ITU grid.
- The FRM220-CWDM Mux/DeMux features modular design cards that support ITU-T G.694.2 wavelengths between 1271nm to 1611nm in 20nm increments.
- The FRM220-OPS Fibre Optical Protection Switches are able to provide fibre path redundancy on a channel by channel basis.
- Our LA-8GCWDM starter Kit provides a safe and affordable means to implement a CWDM system for up to 16 10G links.
