The FRM220-CCF contact closure fiber converter provides the transmission of contact closure over a fiber optic link. With SFP socket on fiber ports, the FRM220-CCF gives you the fiber cabling connector SFP-LC, both multi-mode and single-mode are available as well as BiDi which allows bi-directional transmission using only a single fiber cable. The FRM220-CCF has a contact input and 0.5 amp contact outputs. The contact closure module has two relay outputs and two relay input. The relay outputs follows the “relay inputs” at the remote end. When the remote “relay input” is shorted, the local relay output is closed and vice-versa.

The FRM220-DATA is a media converter for high-speed (up to 8.192Mbps) synchronous or low speed synchronous and asynchronous data transmissions (V.35, RS-232, RS-530, X.21 or RS-449) over fibre optical media. When the FRM220-DATA card is placed in the FRM220 rack with SNMP management, in-band management allows viewing the card and remote converters status, type, version, fibre link status, data link status and alarms. Both card and remote can be configured to enable or disable the port, reset the port, set the data rate, modify the clock mode, and initiate local or far end loopback tests. The FRM220-Data converter may also be paired with the FRM220-E1/T1 for Nx64K transmissions.

FRM220-Serial RS-485 / 232 over Fibre Modem

The FRM220-SERIAL is a fibre optic modem for asynchronous RS232, RS485 and RS422 applications. The modem is available with multi or singlemode optics and can be fitted with a variety of fibre optic connectors ST, SC, FC/PC or a modular SFP option. The FRM220-SERIAL secures data transmission over EMI resistant fibre at speeds up to 256Kbps for RS232 or up to 1024Kbps for RS485/422. Both 2 and 4 wire (full and half duplex) RS485/RS422 operation is supported. The serial interface is presented as a 6 wire screw terminal block. When the FRM220-SERIAL card is placed alongside an NMC management card, remote configuration and monitoring via web browser or SNMP can be achieved on both the local and remote units.

RS-232 to Fibre Media Converter

The FIB-232A is a low cost, compact, fibre converter designed to extend RS-232 transmissions up to 120Km without any repeaters. The transmissions run in fibres which provide for excellent data security as well as being immune to EMI/RFI, variations in ground potentials, and lightning strikes. With the selectable baud rate, the user can choose its own rate for the transmission. The FIB-232A operates at the physical layer (OSI Layer 1) and is completely transparent to the RS-232 transmissions and protocols. The FIB-232A may use an external power adapter. Utilizing an ST, SC fibre cable, the FIB-232A operates in Full Duplex mode for bi-directional transmissions. The FIB-232A RS-232 interface operates in DCE mode for direct connection to DTE devices such as PC DB9 port.
