Lanode expand their product portfolio with KBC Networks products, including Digital Standard, ASFOM and ThruLink™ for secure VPN

London – 3rd November 2011 – Lanode, a specialist provider of networking, transmission and data communication solutions is pleased to announce an expanded relationship in the UK for a range of video and fibre products from KBC Networks. The products include KBC’s Digital Standard and ASFOM fibre ranges and ThruLink™ a secure, encrypted hardware VPN (Virtual Private Network) device.

The essential building blocks for point-to-point fibre optic transmission, KBC's Digital Standard products offer multimode and singlemode solutions for static and PTZ cameras; industrial data systems; single channel contact closure and Ethernet media conversion (including PoE+). All KBC digital standard video units feature 8 or 10-bit digitally-encoded video transmission. This improves performance and provides excellent signal-to-noise ratio. KBC’s ASFOM (Application Specific Fibre Optic Modem) range is a bespoke, multi-interface range which offers integrators and end users true flexibility and choice. ASFOM products allow the exact mix and number of channels to be chosen for each modem making it ideal for when fibre is limited or when rack space and power are at a premium. The range supports transmission of analogue composite video, data, analogue audio, contact closure, telephone Ethernet, DVI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and USB. It supports up to 128 real-time video signals over one fibre and is suitable for point-to-point , bus and redundant systems.

With its simple, cost-effective method for establishing secure connections over a public network, ThruLink is helping organisations to overcome many of their IP network challenges. ThruLink is a specialised, hardware VPN device that enables an encrypted virtual connection, or 'private tunnel' to be established between two networked components over any type of WAN. It’s industrially rated and once the link is established, it constantly monitors the channel, making minute adjustments to optimise the transmission.

Donal McDonnell, Managing Director of Lanode commented “We are very pleased and excited by this expanded relationship. We have worked with KBC Networks informally for many years but felt that their great strength in high-quality video and secure communications would enable us to expand our solutions with existing customers while reaching new customers and markets. We look forward to developing our long-term relationship with KBC Networks.”

Finally with wide operating temperatures and hardened casings, many of the products are designed to perform in unconditional environments such as road and track-side.
